When I hear “Sitka, Alaska,” I will never not hear Sandra Bullock’s voice drawing it out in “The Proposal.” While it was actually filmed on the east coast rather than this quaint fishing town (which several locals were quick to point out), you can tell the real place is just as charming as the film makes it out to be. I hope next time I get to see more than just the airport. (Pro Tip: if you ever find yourself in the airport, make sure to get a slice of the famous pie at The Nugget restaurant)
